Pray that you would abide in Jesus and receive life from Him. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. - John 15:4-5
Obeying is abiding. To abide simply means to keep His commandments. What did He ask us to do? Love Him with all our heart and soul and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. We love Jesus because He loved us first. Receive and rest in His love. God is always with us, but with all the stuff going on in our lives, the distractions, the drone of Netflix, the hectic schedules, the endless social media comparisons, we can lose our desire to pursue Him. The brightness of God, described as His face, can be hidden by the things of the world. So pray to seek Him. Jeremiah 29:13 says, You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
